Kate Hartman is a Toronto based artist and educator who mainly works in the field of wearables. She is the director of Social Body Lab at OCAD, which questions the relationship between humans and technology while creating innovative body interfaces, incorporating technology into clothing.
You can follow her work in progress by visiting her Instagram profile, on which she posts photos and videos of her current projects.
On of the latest creations is the so called ‚porcupine vest‘ – a body-extension that allows you to get more personal space and express yourself on a different level.
Not only do Hartman’s wearables function in a technical way, they also depict meaningful and provocative interactions.
